Some bottles come to you when you least expect them. I read about Booker’s Bourbon Beam House Batch, part of the 2024 collection, and decided to do a cursory search to see if I could find it. First stop the small liquor store down the road from my house. Sure enough, there it stood—one solitary bottle in it’s customary box placed on their “allocated cart” right next to the checkout. The clerk informed me that someone had previously asked about the bottle, but decided against purchasing it, making it a fortunate day for me.
Booker’s Bourbon is a line of small-batch, unfiltered, and barrel-proof bourbon under the Jim Beam family. It’s known for being big, bold, and full of flavor. The Beam House Batch, the second release in the 2024 series, honors the historic Beam family distillery and the craftsmanship behind every batch. Like all Booker’s releases, it’s uncut and unfiltered, aged for about 6 to 7 years, and bottled straight from the barrel. What sets the Beam House Batch apart? Well, it brings that familiar Booker’s intensity but with a nuanced sweetness. On the nose, you’re greeted with strong aromas of caramel, vanilla, and baking spices—everything you want in a rich bourbon. The palate opens up with deeper notes of toasted oak, cinnamon, and a hint of dried fruit, complemented by a thick, oily mouthfeel. There’s an underlying nuttiness that gives it a slight earthy tone, which balances the sweetness. The finish is long and warm, with a kick of spice lingering, reminding you that this is still a Booker’s release—bold and unapologetic.
While bottles like this are often hard to find, it’s always worth keeping an eye out. You never know when luck might strike. I wasn’t expecting to find the Beam House Batch just down the road, but sometimes bourbon adventures take unexpected turns.
